I love the road… It’s cool to be in the studio recording songs, but my favorite part is performing live…
I’ve toured the country a few times and alot of the time I’ve been joined by my man Poizunus.
Poizunus is a world renowned beatboxer. He won Scribble Jam and placed third in the world in Germany a few years back.
He’s great to bring on the road because his beatboxing always commands everyones attention as he rocks the crowd.
Another key part of our performance is freestyling…
It’s something that doesn’t usually translate well to a recording, but I thought it would make for a cool interlude if I called on my man Poizunus to help me out.
He provided the backdrop and I got a chance to bust a few rhymes on top…

I was tired of hearing tracks from women who kept on saying they wanted a thug and a guy from the streets… Tracks like Destiny Child’s “Soldier” and Ciara “Can’t Leavem Alone”… I’m not mad at the thugs I’m just sayin why can’t you look for a Gentleman!
Over the years I’ve watched girls only date thugs and time and time again they come back upset… it’s almost comical…
So when I started writing Gentleman I wanted to do it for the guys who are good guys, grinding hard, doing their thing…
Originally I sung the hook on the track but I knew that Jordan would be a perfect fit. So I hollared at him and we put it down…
Shout out to Diz Dallas for putting down a dope beat!

I was on my way for one of the last shows of the Classified tour when Slakah played this beat…
It was one of those joints where I wanted to just write and record something fast…
Slakah had the hook, concept and flow so it made it easy for me to get something down quick.
Thats the thing I like about a good ‘producer’ they have a vision for the song beyond just making the beat.
Still one of my favorite songs to perform…
